A malaise has set in at school.

In our 4th week of class in the 3rd year of our evening law school experience, the sense I get from classmates is either a general disgust with law school or a weariness that no end seems to be in sight.

Add to that the lack of callbacks from fall recruiting (with notable exceptions) and it’s pretty rough right now.

Our superpowers notwithstanding, four years is a long time to be law school and the grind perhaps has a cumulative impact even if you didn’t take summer classes this year. (Perhaps that makes it worse?)

Late last night in an e-mail, a friend mentioned she’d seen two of our former professors. “Ghosts of law school past” is what she called them. It made me think of this ridiculous video another friend would play before class during our first year. It never ceased to make us laugh and get us through our malaise about Property and Crim Law. Maybe it’ll help this year with Journal, CrimPro, Corps, and PR…

As a 4L I can tell you that while it’s hard to imagine that law school could possibly hold any less interest for you at this point, it can.

And that light at the end of the tunnel…. that’s the bar exam train.
